New Class in Fall 2019! Digital Humanities and Egyptology
We are proud to announce that Dr. Lucarelli is teaching a new class at UC Berkeley in Fall 2019. This class will focus on how the techniques of digital humanities have been applied to solve problems in Egyptology. It will look at the use of digital reconstructions to protect endangered cultural heritage, and to identify and track looted objects. A special focus will be placed on VR reconstructions. Students will have an opportunity to experiment with reconstruction of objects in the Phoebe A Hearst Museum of anthropology using photogrammetry.
